Since her husband, former Senate President Manny Villar spent his childhood in Navotas, reelectionist Sen. Cynthia Villar stresses that the place is close to their hearts.
“While Manny was born in Moriones, Tondo, his family left the place for Navotas when he was only 11 years old. His mother who was then selling fish bought her goods from the Navotas Fish Port,” relates Villar during the Hugpong ng Pagbabago campaign caravan in Navotas.
Because of these occurences, Villar said she and her family continue to return to Navotas to help its people.
In calling her “Nanay ng Bayan,” President Rodrigo Duterte acknowledged her as the “most industrious” senator.
